To induce muscle contractions, the neurotransmitter acetylcholine (ACh) travels through the parasympathetic nervous system to the muscle synapses at the motor endplates to "command" the muscle to contract.

However, these nerve signals can be weakened to such an extent that, for example, facial muscles are less active and are better able to relax, until they calm down completely! This gives the skin a chance to completely smooth out! This inhibition of muscle contraction reduces / avoids facial wrinkles.

The new active ingredients of NoTox®THE NEXT GENERATION inhibit, on the one hand, the release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine (ACh), which controls the contraction of the facial muscles, and on the other hand, prevents ACh from docking at the muscle synapses at all. Due to the relaxing effect on the active mimic muscles, it develops wrinkle-smoothing properties similar to those of neuro-toxins (e.g. botulinum toxin).

Notox is also a variant to extend the time of botulinum toxin results.
